Outland is a NUU Group publication on Medium exploring the fringes of opinion, technology, and design. Outland is a place without borders, a space in time where ideas are born and technology emerges—or in some cases—ceases to exist. You'll see imagery recollecting a past where civilization pushed beyond boundaries—from ancient written languages to ascending Earth into space. Outland is a body of compositions that are juxtaposed with spaces of the unknown and the in-between that represent our future.
02. good measure
Brand identity for the homies Alex Anderson and Tres Garner, founders of Good Measure. In this identity, I explored the use of different weights in the type family to create the idea of going the extra mile. Stretching our minds and creativity to make great things happen for non-profits with a limited amount of resources. Good Measure is an initiative that connects teams of creative volunteers, around the states, with nonprofits that need help. In the span of 72 hours, they revitalize the future for cause-based organizations through branding, design, videography, and development.
03. Leading Second
Leading Second is for church teams and young leaders who serve a vision that is bigger than themselves. Leading Second exists to inspire uncommon attitude, equip uncommon skill, and coach uncommon wisdom. The reflected “2” and grid system of geometric shapes was developed for the brand identity under the idea of perspective.
04. Shower Chique
Shower Chique is a beautifully designed shower cap, reinvented for the modern age with an attached shield to protect hair and lashes from the spray of water. The tone of the labels speaks on the importance of self-love and confidence for women to feel beautiful.
Veer is a sports agency focused on branding projects in football, soccer, and basketball teams throughout the world. The typographic play in the brand identity brings to mind concepts of opposing teams–the act of confronting and facing your opponent. Elements in the mark form a symbol representing the landscape of a game–on the court or the field.
06. som’n slight
Som’n Slight started by sharing a few of my photographs on Instagram saying, “Here are some photos I shot, you know Som’n Slight.” I took a break from photography to focus on design, but later then realized that I love this shit and went back in.
A series of photographs that were taken in Houston, Texas on December 17, 2016, with Zulu The Great. As a process, the photographs were reproduced on cardstock, torn apart, then captured again to create this TORN/ effect.
A food service provided on plant-based dishes. Unlike ordinary vegan restaurants, this food service presents itself in a unique and stimulating aesthetic, enhanced by hand-drawn illustrations. Veg*n provides its people with instructions on how to prepare healthy vegan food by supplying simple recipes, fresh ingredients, and more than a drizzle of attitude. The identity system showcases four recipe cards and packaged ingredients, all contained in a practical box.
An interactive look-book that explores the cultural styles of Houston street wear. Different from conventional look-books, WAVE conveys a unique experience with the use of movement. This interactive movement is created by superposed transparent typographic overlays that generate a moiré pattern consisting of lines. Each issue is vacuum-packed in custom produced silver foil and transparent packaging.
